Serenity: “the state of being calm, peaceful, and untroubled”
My private practice “Serenity Family Counseling” was created in January 2018 when I joined the group of fabulous women at the New Ulm Wellness Collective. Prior to this, I worked in outpatient mental health settings with children, adolescents, adults, and families. I really enjoy working in rural communities to help keep services local and to provide counseling and resources to individuals and families both in the office and also online through telehealth services. Serenity Family Counseling accepts many forms of health insurances.
I work with children as young as 4 years old, adolescents, adults, and families providing individual, family, and group therapies. I have worked with a number of diverse individuals and families with a wide range of mental health disorders. As a “Registered Play Therapist” (RPT), I maintain a separate play therapy room, near my main office where I facilitate a variety of play therapies including sand tray, artistic play, dramatic play, dollhouse play, puppet play, exploration play, expressive play, and fantasy play.
I am a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker (LICSW), through the Minnesota Board of Social Work, and also provide clinical supervision. I maintain national credentialing as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT), through the Association for Play Therapy. I also hold memberships with the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and the Association for Play Therapy (APT).
I believe in providing a caring, supportive, and client-centered environment. I want to offer effective therapeutic interventions to help adults, families, and children manage their mental health symptoms, so they can live a happy, healthy lifestyle and find the inner peace and “Serenity” in their life.
Stay healthy and WELL!
