Julie’s class focuses intentionally on building community, strength, and flexibility as well as an awesome guided relaxation. Modifications will be cued to assure that the practice compliments the experienced yogi and fit beginners.
An adaptive yoga class that is entirely sitting or standing; no floor work. Class participants will gently move all major joints and muscles to maintain flexibility and strength needed for freedom of movement, mobility, balance, and good posture.
Restorative yoga is designed for relaxation, calming, and healing. The gentle poses are supported by props and stimulate the parasympathetic nervous system, which slows the heart rate, regulates the blood pressure, and relaxes the body. Restorative yoga is considered an ideal balance to hectic and stressful modern lifestyles.
Focus is on breath mechanics, body awareness, mindfulness, and safety. Perfect for beginners and advanced yogis alike. Learn or return to the basics of yoga so you can feel confident and safe in your body taking other classes or practicing at home.
This class will provide you much-needed relaxation while building the strength and stamina necessary to support you physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually as your body and life roles change. Incorporates yoga, free weights and cardio set to upbeat music to get your heart pumping. Challenge our mind, body, and soul with a different kind of zen. All fitness levels welcome; bring your mat, towel, 2 sets of weights (optional), and water.
Qigong & Tai Chi
Exercises combine deep relaxed breathing with slow meditative movements designed to bring you into a calm, relaxed state which helps to reduce stress and tension. This class also incorporates foundational Tai Chi movements to help improve muscle strength, flexibility and balance. The exercises are slow and gentle and can be adjusted, so people of all levels of ability can participate.
As you relax in a zero gravity chair, the waves of sound produced by Himalayan singing bowls and chimes can calm the nervous system, mind and body. These sounds help to relieve stress, insomnia, anxiety and depression. Classes are held 2nd Thursday of the month at 7:30.
In this session you are introduced to the combination of guided meditation focused on opening and energizing the chakras with the use of crystal chakra singing bowls. The combination helps create balance for you physically, mentally, and emotionally. Known to reduce stress, fatigue, and anxiety, this session is offered the 4th Thursday of the month at 7:30.
This technique uses positive mental images accompanied by relaxing music to influence how you feel. As you relax in a zero gravity chair, let Diane tell you a story that lets you imagine you are there in the scene experiencing everything. Like going on a mini vacation every 3rd Thursday of the month @7:30.
Local musician, Danielle Deopere, provides mindful meditation classes through the experience of live music. Participants will relax in zero-gravity chairs while guided through a meditation. The majority of the meditation will be through the connection with music and lyrics of the songs performed. Music can speak to our soul in ways words cannot; So sit back, listen with your soul, and feel your body relax!
